Presentation

In March 2011Africore Global Sarl was officially born under the determined leadership of Marie-Claire Ngo Minka. Starting with just 15 forestry employees, the company began as a subcontractor acquiring forest concessions and produced 2,500 m³ of wood per month in its first year — selling exclusively to the local Cameroonian market.

That same pioneering spirit led to its first official forest concession (sale de coupe) in 2012, generating a turnover of 250 million CFA francs.

Today, AFRICORE has grown into one of Cameroon’s leading private forestry groups with 800 employees across its operations: 7 forest concessions in the South Region (5 owned outright, 2 in strategic partnership), the modern industrial sawmill and drying complex in Ebolowa, and headquarters in Douala.

In 2017 alone, AFRICORE produced over 220,000 m³ of logs and achieved a turnover exceeding 16 billion CFA francs.

Below is a detailed walkthrough on how we operate today — from forest to final customer:

1) Exploitation

  • Management of 5 own Forest Management Units (UFA) + 2 partnership concessions in South Region
  • Total area under management: 352,534 hectares
  • Annual harvest on approximately 10,500 hectares (strict rotational system)
  • Average monthly log production: 18,000 m³
  • 60% of logs processed internally at Ebolowa sawmill
  • 40% exported as round logs or supplied to local partner industries
  • Historical production record: 220,146 m³ in 2017
  • Selective harvesting of only mature trees following FSC-aligned reduced-impact logging
  • GPS mapping and inventory of every tree before felling

2) Transport

  • Centralized logistics coordination by Technical Department
  • Average forest-to-plant transit time: under 72 hours
  • Dedicated priority access agreements with Douala and Kribi ports

3) Transformation

  • Industrial complex in Ebolowa equipped with 3 high-capacity sawing lines (latest installed June 2016)
  • Monthly sawn timber production capacity: 5,000 m³
  • 80% of sawn production destined for export
  • Processing of 42 commercial tropical species
  • 400 specialized workers across sawing, grading, drying and finishing
  • 6 computer-controlled drying kilns (3 commissioned July 2016)
